Cherry Blossom Cake
This Cherry blossom cake was made with my go-to chocolate cake and Orange Blossom Buttercream. I always use Swiss Buttercream because its much lighter and not too sweet. The flowers were fondant I rolled out thin, cut out, and shaped with fondant modeling tools. On the larger flowers I piped little dots of buttercream and sprinkled with yellow sanding sugar to look like pollen. This was for an actress on the Warner Brothers Lot for her birthday. I had cake batter, buttercream, and flowers left over, so I made the cupcakes and gave my nephews a little surprise treat.
Another cake I did at work. Three layer half sheet cake. Chocolate with vanilla buttercream.
